Triangle Bling Clasp

This is part 3 of a 3-part class to complete the entire piece. However, each piece can be taken separately (with prerequisites).

Part 3: The Clasp – Advanced Beginner/Intermediate

Knowing how to bead your own clasps greatly enhances your work, adds interest, and is generally cheaper than purchasing clasps!

The class will cover how to make a Peyote tube (odd count). The method I use for this is easily doable by an advanced beginner student! We will also cover open shapes for the loop portion. We will MAKE the triangle version, but options for other shapes will be discussed.

Prerequisites:

·       SOME experience with Peyote stitch and Peyote shapes such as triangles.

·       Good Tension control.

·       Ability to work with tight tension.

·       Note: The previous 2 classes will meet these requirements.

 Supply List:

Size 11 Delica beads in 2 colors, 1 primary and 1 accent - One 7.2 gram bag of each color

Thread - 6# or 8# non-stretch thread (i.e. Fireline)

Needle

Triangle Bling Rope

Triangle Bling Rope

This is part 2 of a 3-part class to complete the entire piece. However, each piece can be taken separately (with prerequisites).

Part 2: The Rope – (Beginner/Advanced Beginner)

This versatile technique works up quickly, and makes a great rope for many beaded pendants. The class will cover the basics of Herringbone Stitch plus techniques for inserting objects (Crystals, pearls, charms, etc.) as an integral part of the rope. Attaching a clasp will be covered. Students who want to use the beaded version, will leave the clasp off (for now).

Prerequisite: Exposure to Herringbone stitch, slight ability to control tension. Taking the Pendant portion will meet these requirements.

 Supply List:

Size 11 Seed beads   (Delica or Aiko) in 1 or 2 colors.  If using two colors - 1 primary and 1 accent (the accent is not required, but there will be  instructions for incorporating different designs using the second color accents.)

Inserts

·       4mm crystals, pearls, or other beads for ones that are the same diamete as the rest of the rope.

·       Larger accents will work as well, but much larger mean that the pendant might need to be put on before working the second side of the rope.

Thread   6# or 8# non-stretch thread (i.e. Fireline)

Needle

This class will start promptly, so please be ready and in the classroom on time. Students are welcome to bring the materials needed from home, purchasing materials at Blueberry is not required.  Please bring a magnifier or glasses if you use them to sew/read/craft.
